An unopened container stored at a moderate temperature should be good for two to three years. If you open it and it smells good, then it’s good. Since our products are made with a base of olive oil and beeswax, which are both natural preservatives, even if your balm doesn’t smell like it should, it is still safe to use, just not as pleasant! We do not use chemical stabilizers or any other nasty stuff, so extremes in temperature (such as freezing, thawing, and humidity) can affect a balm’s shelf life by changing its consistency and aroma.
