Bee Skep Candle

The word skep is thought to have come from an Icelandic Norse word skeppa meaning a straw basket. A bee skep is one of the earliest forms of a man made housing for a bee hive. By today’s definition, it is an artfully woven straw domed basket, which provides a clean and dry place for a bee colony to build a comb.

Pure Beeswax Candles burn with almost no smoke or scent and clean the air by releasing negative ions. These can bind with toxins and help remove them from the air. They are a great choice if you have allergies or sensitivities as they do not contain any soot producing chemicals or toxins.

The wax for our candles we refer to as BeEco-wax. We made that name up BTW. You may notice it’s quite dark compared to most “beeswax” candles you might normally see. This is because we do not harvest wax until the bees have used it a number of years.

Our candles are individually hand-poured in limited quantities. The glow and scent from these bee-themed candles adds ambiance to any occasion. They make great gifts for weddings, birthdays, or just because the people you care about deserve something sweet.
